We can create custom wedding packages for any park or garden in Florida. If you have a special spot in mind let us know. Almost all gardens and parks can accommodate more guests. However, in most cases, higher rental fees will have to be paid.

Why a Garden Wedding in Florida?

While many weddings in Florida are on beautiful beaches, our botanical gardens and state parks can offer a gorgeous setting for couples who rather not get their feet sandy.

Lush flowering gardens, water fountains, ponds, and gazebos are just a few examples of perfect backgrounds for your ceremony. Because most parks are well maintained there is often not much decoration needed. You may choose a majestic oak as your background and at the same time, it will provide shade in the hotter months in Florida. A Florida garden wedding is so romantic.

Garden Wedding decoration and regulations.

Depending on the chosen location we offer to decorate gazebos with fresh flowers, set up a wedding arch, or bring other decorations to compliment the chosen ceremony site.

Many gardens include ceremony chairs in their rental fee or they can be booked in addition. If needed we can provide 20 white metal chairs. If more guest seating is needed we can order them with a rental company.

Regulations will differ but usually, no birdseed, confetti, or throwing rice will be allowed in any park or garden. Some parks do not allow chairs or decoration and are suitable for smaller weddings.

Wedding Photography pricing

We scale your wedding photography on photography time. There is no restriction on how many photos we take, but the amount may be influenced by weather conditions and other circumstances out of our control. You may add photo time in 30-minute increments for photography at the ceremony location. For other locations including getting ready and receptions please contact us for custom pricing.

Exception: Mini photo packages with 30-minute photo shoots may have an image restriction.

Wedding Photography post-work

We always include post-work of your photos and refer to light adjustments especially on days with difficult lighting or non-flashed inside photos where flash is not allowed. Wedding photos should be timeless, therefore we keep your photos as natural as possible and in color. Post-work editing and filters are the photographer’s choice and customers will usually receive the color jpg along with the post-worked image if applicable.

How Do I receive my images?

All our couples receive a link and password from us to access their photos online. From our proof site, you can download your photos and order additional services and professional prints. Your images can also be accessed on any cell phone with our free app. You can take your wedding photos anywhere and show them to family and friends. A copyright release for personal use will be provided once you downloaded the images. You will be able to print and enlarge photos and make photo books or albums at a photo lab of your choice.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Photography time

If you booked a wedding package with us, professional wedding photography is either included or can be added. The mini photo package with 30 minutes of photo time is only available for proposals, vow renewals, or symbolic weddings. It will cover 15 minutes during the ceremony/proposal and a 15-minute intimate photo session with just the couple. There will be not enough time for group photos, toast, or different locations and poses in proximity.

How much time for wedding photography?

For weddings, there is a one-hour minimum shooting time. This will cover photo time during the ceremony, some portraiture and group photos, and the couple’s intimate photo session. One-hour wedding photography is perfect for smaller events.

For larger weddings and couples where photography plays an important part, I recommend a 2-hour wedding photography package at the ceremony location to cover all the details.

You may add additional hours to cover the reception, getting ready, first look, trash the dress, or post-wedding photography the next day.

TIPS FROM THE PRO

Florida Climate

Florida has a tropical climate and most of the year it is very humid with extremely high summer temperatures. If you are planning an outdoor or beach wedding you will have to put this into consideration.

Lighting for photography in Florida

Lighting will be very difficult on the beach at noon and afternoon where the sun is standing high. The sun will not only reflect from your white dress but also from the ocean, white sand and everything else around that is white in color. This will produce very unnatural skin colors ranging from very light to greyish tones and will cast a lot of shadows. While it is possible to add warmer tones and battle shadows with reflectors or manually adjust photos during post-processing, it is not an ideal time for photography. Another factor is that a lot of photos will be with closed eyes or twitching. This can be especially difficult for group photos. Unless you want all your wedding photos with sunglasses on or opt-out for photos looking in the camera.

Best time for photos

The best time for wedding photography in Florida from April through November will be 1-2 hours before sunset where the light is warmer. Morning weddings are possible if photos are finished by 10:30 am. In the winter months, earlier afternoon weddings are possible because the sun will not be as strong as in summer. The turquoise water on the Florida Gulf Coast will be most pronounced on photos in the mornings and afternoon.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY FLORIDA, DO'S

For most couples, the wedding photos are the first professional photo shoot together. It is OK to practice a little ahead of time while having fun.
All light colors including pastel tones, blues, and beige monochrome colors are great choices for your photos.
I recommend to all brides to have professional hair and makeup done unless you are a pro yourself.
It can be windy outdoors especially on the beach, keep that in mind when choosing a hairstyle.
Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, lipstick or lipgloss, and some facial tissue.
Grooms should bring a second shirt to exchange if necessary. Yes, you may get sweaty and it doesn’t look so great on photos.
Let me know any specific wishes you may have or must-have photos.
You can bring props or signs or anything else that you wish to incorporate in your photos.
Send me a photo of you together so I have a good idea of who will be in front of the camera.
While eyeglasses can produce unwanted reflections, if you don’t see well without them keep them on. We don’t want cross-eyed photos. If possible, contact lenses would be a good alternative.
Be yourself, be in Love and most importantly have fun at your photo session.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY FLORIDA, DONT'S

Sunbathing or extended stays in the sun before the wedding can not only get you sunburns but also often create unwanted bikini lines. It is very difficult and time-consuming post work to get rid of sunburns on photos. While professional makeup artists can battle the issue, please keep out of the sun until after the wedding and use a sun blocker.
Don’t use makeup that does not sweat or waterproof. Make sure you are having a good makeup foundation to prevent ugly lines. Purchase high-end products used by professionals like MAC Cosmetics.
Don’t choose striped dress shirts or large bold colorful patterns. They look overwhelming on photos and draw extra attention. Black and very dark color suits and dresses will work for daytime weddings but are not ideal for sunset photos.
Don’t be afraid of the camera. It is just a little machine that will capture a second in time for you to cherish for a lifetime. The person behind it is usually not scary at all, so relax, be yourself, and have fun.
There is usually nothing on the floor that needs inspecting. So keep your head up and look into your future together.
Don’t show me only your pretty back’s during the ceremony. Hold your hands and face towards each other. This way I have your profile and see your faces.
Don’t hide your emotions, those are the most treasured photos you will have.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

THINGS I DO

I don’t take photos, I create them. I put thought and my heart and soul into my photography. Not every pose will work for every couple. I will assist you with putting you in the right light and thrive to archive most natural photos even if they have to be staged at times. Especially with smaller weddings a lot of more thought has to be put in when creating your memories. There are only so many subjects and things happening to capture. This is when posing is a necessity. However, I love to take my couples along the ocean edge, in the dunes and surrounding areas for photos that are actually with motion. I welcome my couples to just do what they feel like to give them the freedom to be themselves. Group photos don’t have to be boring but a lot will depend on how willing you and your guests are to try new things. Of course, we will do traditional portraiture as well and I try to capture all the little details that are important to you. I am looking forward to creating your memories.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I BRING

THE GEAR

The right photography gear is absolutely a must for any professional photographer. However, the photographer takes the photo and the camera only records what we see. Some of the most famous photos today have been shot with pretty simple cameras. So the best gear doesn’t help in creating photos. With that said, I photograph with Nikon digital full format bodies and professional lenses. For most smaller weddings I bring a set of 4 lenses. I love to work with natural light and will use a flash only indoors, for sunset or difficult light situations. I always carry a second camera body, flash, and extra cards with me in case of equipment failure.

PHOTOGRAPHY IS AN ART

Different people, different views

We are all different people and often see things differently. The same counts for photography. Everybody can take a picture and today’s cell phones produce pretty good results. But the difference comes from actually composing a photo and putting thought and inspiration into it. I like to try out new things and sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn’t. But this is truly what art photography is. We never stop learning and like any artist, we are never really 100% satisfied.

Responsibility of being your wedding photographer

Weddings are not an easy task to photograph with tons of responsibility. We can’t just redo what happens that day, we don’t have power over the weather and we as humans come in different sizes, shapes, and looks. But this is what makes us unique and the reason why I love lifestyle and people photography.

The difference of pro photography

We will look at every single photo and make adjustments if necessary. A professional photographer will (or should) not just hand your photos over without being edited. Sometimes more extensive work has to be done because of circumstances out of our control. Some examples are sunburns, Bikini lines, sweat spots on shirts, etc. It is very time-consuming to manually fix this on your photos. Corrective editing you can book in separate if needed.

Raw Files

Yes, I photograph both in jpg and raw files. I do get sometimes requests from clients to purchase the raw files. I am not selling or giving out raw images for several reasons. Imagine you are a chef, ordering food at a nice restaurant. After your order has been done, you knock on the kitchen door and kindly ask the chef to provide you with all the raw ingredients so you can prepare the meal yourself. Raw files are exactly that, Raw ingredients. We all have our own style as photographers just like the painter and his or her canvas. Your wedding photos are our work of art.

Marriage License by mail Florida Information

Marriage License by mail Application

We are applying for the marriage license by mail and this service is included in some of our wedding packages. You may choose to add this service if it is not already included in the package price. We have been processing the Florida Marriage License by mail since 2005. You will not have to arrive in Florida a working day ahead of time or go to the Clerk of Court and spend precious vacation time to apply in person. There are no waiting times and everything will be done before you travel to Florida.

Why apply for your License by mail?

There will be no waiting time in courthouses during your vacation time.
You arrive in Florida without worries, knowing that the license is already valid and ready to use.
You can actually arrive at weekends and still get married. (Clerks are closed on weekends and holidays).
No fear of communication problems at the Clerk of Court for couples that are not native English speakers.
Convenient and a true time-saver for busy couples on tight schedules.

Documents required

Copies of government IDs (driver’s license, state ID, military ID, or passport if residing outside of the US).
You have to fill out a Clerks Information sheet that we will provide you with.
If previously married the exact date when the last marriage ended.
You need your social security number if you are a US permanent resident or citizen.
You need a passport number for non-US residents or citizens.

We will not need your divorce decree, birth certificates, or any translated documents. Exception: If your last marriage ended within a month and you are trying to remarry we will need the divorce decree.

MARRIAGE LICENSE BY MAIL PROCEDURE

How does it work?

Approximately one month prior to your wedding date we apply at the Clerk of Court for your license. If you also plan your wedding with us we will hold on to the finished document until your wedding day. If you booked the legal assistance package the finished license will be mailed to your home address via Fed Ex. You will have to present the license to your officiant on the day of the wedding. The document is absolutely legal and the same as applying in person. Currently, only two Clerks in the State of Florida are offering this service and you have to file through a company that is registered with the Clerk like us. You may also apply for the license yourself in person.

Step by Step

You fill out the Clerks information sheet provided by us and email it along with copies of your IDs.
We submit the application along with the filing fee to the Clerk of Court approx. one month prior to your wedding date. The filing fee is nonrefundable
We will receive a pre-license via Email from the Clerk and forward it to you along with detailed instructions, a handbook, and a premarital statement. The license is not valid yet at this time.
You print out the pre-license and make sure everything is correctly filled in (Names, Birthdates, etc.) Please read the instructions carefully and contact us if something is not correct on the pre-license.
You will take the printed pre-license to a Notary Public or Solicitor and get your signatures notarized. This has to be done to prove your identities since you will not apply in person. We recommend having 2 copies notarized to have one in spare in case documents get lost.
Mickey Hill is a Notary Public in the State of Florida. If you have difficulties in getting your notarization’s done at home we can also notarize your documents in our office.
Print out the premarital statement and sign it. No notarization is necessary.
Fed Ex or UPS the notarized pre-license along with the premarital statement to us. We have to file the license one more time with the Clerk of Court for finalization.
The license is finished and valid when the Clerk has signed, dated, and stamped the document. We will hold on to your license until your wedding date or ship it to your home address.

What is an Apostille?

For couples living outside of the US

An Apostille is a document issued that will validate for other countries that the marriage is valid. Countries that signed The Haag Convention contract will mostly accept this document and register the marriage in your home country. We will file for the Apostille if your country requests an Apostille for legalization at home. The Apostille can take 4 to 6 weeks processing time and will be mailed to your home address. Couples from the UK will not need this document, but most other countries will require it. Once you received the Apostille from us you take the Apostille to your local registration office and get your marriage registered. Some countries will also require a translation.

Countries not members of The Haag Convention:

Some countries are not members of The Haag Convention or will require additional procedures even if they are members. If you are living in one of those countries an Apostille will not be sufficient to register the marriage at home. Please ask your local office what they will require to legalize the marriage at home. In almost all cases further documents have to be filed with the Embassy – Consulate of this country.

Your Responsibilities

While we know the requirements for many different countries, things can and do change over the years. It is the responsibility of the couple to check with the local registration office what will be required to file for your marriage at home.

Marriage License shipping

The finished license will be shipped via Fed Ex Ground to an address within the US. You will have to present the document to your wedding officiant on the day of the wedding.

We will include a return envelope to the issuing Clerk where the license has to be mailed to after the wedding took place for registration.

We receive one certified copy of your marriage certificate unless you purchased additional copies with us.

Certified copies of the marriage certificate will be shipped via USPS for clients within the US. USPS shipments are included in the package price. For customers from overseas, Fed Ex International shipping charges will apply and are not included in the package price. The luxury wedding coordination package is a consultation and coordination package including all legalities in Florida.

Today’s busy couples may not have the time to research and plan every detail of a wedding. Especially if you are planning a wedding away from home it is important to have a helping hand on your side that knows locations and works with local vendors. It is very time-consuming to plan a wedding. From menu selections to bands and DJ to simply applying for your legal paperwork. A lot of things have to be put into consideration when planning a wedding.

Many couples may just book everything at a resort. It is an option and many have done so. But also remember the coordinator at the hotel/resort or banquet facility is paid by the resort and works in their interest and many things still have to be planned by you.

As your personal wedding planner, I take care of things from A to Z. I plan your wedding at any preferred location. This can be at a resort, banquet facility, Country Club, historic site, or even at your private home.

Marriage Certificate & Shipping

Certified copies of the marriage certificate will be shipped via USPS for clients within the US. USPS shipments are included in the package price. For customers from Oversees, Fed Ex International shipping charges will apply and are not included in the package price. We won’t ship documents to International destinations with regular mail because paperwork cannot be tracked.

Why should I book a coordination package?

I will be by your side from the pre-planning stages to the day of your wedding. Not only will I represent your wishes with outside vendors and facilities but oversee all the details so you can enjoy your special day. I have been planning weddings in all sizes since 2001. Including large weddings with over 100 guests. I understand how banquet facilities work and have experience behind the scenes in hospitality. As an individual hired by you I will always look out for your interests and wishes.

Why booking an unaffiliated Wedding Planner?

Most event planners and banquet managers included in your reception package are hired and paid by the facility. They will work in the interest of their employer. In many cases, they will only provide you with a preferred vendor list for photographers, officiants, and other service providers for your event. It is then up to you to plan all the details with them directly and coordinate it with the facility.

My job as a wedding planner

My job as a wedding planner is, that I will take care of all the nitty-gritty things involved with a wedding. This may include making payments or payment arrangements, time tables, overseeing deadlines and contracts, and much more. I will call all vendors several times including a few days before the wedding to ensure all is going forward as planned. Hiring a wedding planner is an absolute must-have, if you plan a larger destination wedding, or have limited time to plan your wedding.

Preferred vendor perks

We are working with preferred vendors that we know for many years, but you may also select your providers. If you book one of our preferred vendors they are hand-selected for their expertise and reliability. They are not chosen by the price but rather excellence of service.

Most vendors that I have been working with will give me discounted pricing that I will roll over to my clients. Savings on those services alone can make up 1/3 of the coordination fee alone.

Conclusion

Just like you can choose to buy a bridal gown from the bridal store and be absolutely happy with it, others rather wish a designer gown tailored to their specifications. This is the same for wedding packages. For some couples a pre-planned wedding package is exactly what they are looking for and a perfect fit. Weddings in Ocala/ Gainsville/ Crystal River/Daytona/ Tampa/Clearwater /St Augustine /Palm Coast/Cocoa Beach/ Orlando start at $1090.00 including tax.

This package is only available within those areas and nearby cities.

The basic wedding package is available in a setting of your choice. That can be the beach, a garden, your vacation rental, or anywhere you prefer. Location rental fees are the responsibility of the bride and groom. For small beach weddings without decoration, there is often no permit required. Other locations like parks, botanical gardens, etc. will likely have a rental fee.

Our basic wedding package is not available with decoration and for a maximum of 20 guests. You may add a few additional services or extra photography. Our basic wedding package is for couples that just want to say their “I Do’s” or plan most of their wedding themselves. If you need a little more to spice up your special day check out our beach wedding packages or other locations that we offer. We are also happy to customize a wedding package.

You may add a professional photography package with 1 hour of service for $500, or a mini photography package with 30 minutes of photo time for $250. The mini photo package does not include photos during the ceremony.

Simple Basic Wedding Package

Celebrating Love! The basic wedding package is also available for commitment ceremonies, vow renewals, or gifts of love.

All services have to be booked as is but we give a discount of $100 if you don’t need the marriage license by mail service.

We provide a basic pre-planning of services included in the wedding package. All other research or planning has to be done by the client.

Great for DIY couples

This is a great package for DIY couples who like to plan most of their wedding needs themselves. It is also a great option for couples who like to keep it simple. The package is estimated for up to 20 guests. Keep in mind that guest seating is not included and has to be arranged by you. Sometimes certain ceremony locations will provide seating for guests or it is included in the location rental fee.

Exclusive Beach Wedding Florida includes the following services:

Full pre-wedding coordination for all aspects of the ceremony.
On request personal meeting before the wedding at our office location in Belleview.
Day of wedding coordinator during the ceremony for up to 2 hours.
Unlimited Emails and scheduled phone calls.
Assistance with pre-booking a reception location or restaurant.
Florida Marriage License by mail including all filing fees.
Filing for the marriage and registration.
Officiant Service in English by Mickey Hill. Custom vows and ceremony examples.
Decorative marriage certificate.
Bose PA System and Speaker
Fresh flower bridal bouquet with premium flowers or luxury flowers if in season.
Boutonniere for the groom.
Four pole bamboo wedding arch/chuppah with white sheers. Large floral fresh flower arrangement along the top pole with roses, hydrangeas, and greenery in the color of your choice. 4 smaller posy bouquets on each pole where curtains are tied with sashes.
6 Tiki torches or wood lanterns decorated with fresh flowers.
20 white folding chairs with white chair covers and sashes. Optional fresh flowers behind every chair starting at $15.00 per chair.
Medium round table with a white table cloth.

Most beaches in Florida will require a beach permit for weddings. Permit fees are not included in the package price and vary on location. The county sales tax is currently 7% and will be added to taxable services/items within the package.

What is included besides beautiful photos?

Online password-protected photography proof site and a complimentary phone app to view and take your photos everywhere. Direct download and order of all your original jpg files via the proof site. Copyright release for personal use. No image/photo restrictions. The customer receives approx. 100 edited high-resolution images per hour of photography.

1-hour wedding photography starts at $600.

Fresh Flowers

The four poles bamboo wedding arch/chuppah included is decorated as featured on the photos in the color of your choice. It includes roses, white or blue hydrangea, or other flowers and fillers that are standard, economical, or selected premium flowers. For the bridal bouquet, you may choose all flowers including premium and luxury flowers if they are in season. Please refer to our Floral Design page to see what is included in the price.
